House Moving Companies is an independent website about removals. Most of it is a blog and an article library: guides, news and answers for people planning a move and for the removal companies who carry moves out. The site is for information.
What this site is for
The same questions come up on almost every move. How much notice a landlord needs. Whether the van can park outside. Who books the lift in a block of flats. What customs will want to see before a container leaves for Bangkok. We answer each one properly, once, and keep the answer where anyone can find it.
An article starts from a real problem rather than a place name or a keyword. Where a rule, a fee or a deadline comes from somebody else, we name the source so you can check it rather than take our word for it.
Who it is written for
People moving home. Across town, to another part of the UK, or abroad. The guides cover notice and moving dates, packing, parking and loading access, and what changes when your belongings cross a border.
Removal companies. Firms have questions too: access and permits, paperwork for a move leaving the UK, how to price a job with an awkward building at one end. If you run a removal company and your question is not answered here, ask it and we will answer it. A job you cannot cover can go through the trade page.
Moves and quote requests
Reading the site costs nothing and asks nothing of you. If you want a local or international move, use the UK removals quote or the international removals quote. Your request goes to Onemove Limited, the removal company that handles moves requested through this site. They will contact you about the move, and they are responsible for it if you go ahead.
The privacy policy says exactly who sees what you send.
Where the site's interests lie
Articles are written to answer a question, not to sell a particular firm. Some end with a link to a quote form. None is written to make one company's offer look like the only sensible choice.
The currency exchange pages promote a currency partner, and links to that partner are marked as sponsored. The editorial policy sets out how articles are written, dated and corrected.
