A postcode area covers many towns and can cross a county or council boundary, so an area can appear under more than one council area. Your council is decided by your address, not your postcode.
Each of the 22 councils runs the roads in its area, and a parking bay suspension for the removal vehicle is booked with it. The council for every area is on its card above.
Since September 2023 the default limit on most roads through built-up areas in Wales has been 20mph, though councils have since put some roads back to 30. On a move through towns it adds time, and time is what most of a removal is priced on.
Buying a home in Wales means Land Transaction Tax, collected by the Welsh Revenue Authority, not Stamp Duty. It replaced Stamp Duty in Wales in April 2018, and its bands differ, so a price that worked out in England may not work out the same here.
Road signs and many addresses are in Welsh and English, and plenty of places have two names, such as Caerdydd and Cardiff or Abertawe and Swansea. Give your mover both, with the postcode, so nobody is looking for the wrong sign.
Terraced streets in the valleys are steep and parked on both sides, and much of Powys, Gwynedd and Ceredigion is reached by narrow lanes. A smaller vehicle for the last stretch is common, and better planned than found out on the morning.
Ferries to Ireland sail from Holyhead to Dublin, and from Fishguard and Pembroke Dock to Rosslare. Moves to England cross the Severn bridges, which have been toll free since December 2018, or the border further north.

It can add time on a route through towns and villages, and removals are mostly priced on time. On a long move the difference is usually small, because most of the distance is on main roads where the limit is higher.
